Spot and Overseeding:

Days 0-14:

Water area to keep ground and seed moist, this may mean watering short intervals several times throughout the day. To properly germinate seed, area must stay wet continuously until grass begins to emerge. 

Days 15-30:

New grass should be watered 1-3 times a day depending on temperatures and natural precipitation. New grass is fragile and should not dry out or become scorched in sun. 

Days 31+:

First year grass should be monitored throughout first full season as it is established. Grass will be less tolerant to heat and drought than established grass and should be watered at least once per week for at least 30 minutes or until thoroughly soaked.

Sod:

Water continuously to maintain spongy wet for first 30 days. As sod is established then back off watering to daily for up to 60 days. Then water as needed at least 1 a week over 90 days.
