Lawn Mowing: Seasonal Lawn Maintenance Service

Our standard lawn mowing service includes mulch mowing, trimming, and blowing off hard surfaces for one great price.  We offer a regular weekly service to lawn maintenance customers. We require all mowing customers to have a seasonal lawn treatment plan that includes Lawn Fertilization and Weed Control in order to have our lawn mowing service. 

We do not offer bagging as part of our lawn mowing service. We have mowers with special mulching blades and baffles on the deck that allow the clippings to recycle and be cut up into fine particles. We makes sure if there are problem areas with heavy tracks we will double cut grass to ensure all particles are being cut as normal. In very rare circumstances, we will rake or bag up clippings if absolutely necessary to ensure that your lawn does not have a ton of tracks all over. 

Mulch mowing is a benefit over bagging the lawn cutting clippings into fine particles that will break down and return nutrients to your lawn. It will also help shield your lawn at the soil level from the immediate stress after cutting until your grass recovers. Mulch clippings do not contribute to build up of thatch.

We will generally begin lawn mowing the first week of April and end the season the around the second week of November. Check out our Service Calendar for all dates and closures for Holidays.

Summer - 1st & 3rd week of July, and 1st week of August

Fall - 1st & 3rd week of October, and 1st week of November

Total Opt-Out weeks - 6

Weather in the Midwest can be erratic, the Council Bluffs, IA area is no different. We realize the grass slows down in the heat of summer and cooler temps of fall. That is why we allow customers to opt out of the lawn maintenance weeks listed above, however, we do not opt out of regular weeks in between. This changes they typical season of 32-33 weeks to a total of 26-27 weeks. During the heavy growth in spring and normal temperatures of late summer we are a weekly service. We do not fill our tight schedule with sporadic or periodic mowing appointments. 

Any changes to scheduling lawn maintenance services will be communicated to you as soon as possible. In the event of rain, expect delays in service, but be sure we will begin working as soon as the weather will allow. We prioritize the schedule of our routes when making up work. For example if we are rain delayed on Monday and cannot provide service, the next day we are able to we will begin with the Monday route and work to catch up as soon as possible. 

We set our mowers cutting height between 3-3.5 inches depending on parts of the season. This gives the most consistent look after the lawn is cut. It will also help ensure that in uneven terrain, we do not bottom out during lawn mowing, scalping your lawn or damaging our equipment. Grass that is cut shorter that 3 inches tends to burn up in the sun much easier with less ability to resist stress and drought. Also, the shorter you cut your grass, weed penetration becomes much easier. 

We do not offer every other week service regularly but as an option if needed for the customer under certain circumstances. A minimum $15 on top of your normal lawn mowing service price for EOW scheduling. The cost offsets the added lawn growth that requires a double cut to the lawn where we will have to go back over long spots that do not cut well the first time. This fee is not incurred for summer drought when we determine the lawn should not be cut.
